In 2018, all 15 courts were equipped with video conferencing equipment, including the Superior Council of Magistracy and the four Courts of Appeal in the country. During the first six months, the regulatory framework will be modified and the system will be piloted, while court employees will be trained in managing the videoconferencing system.
Video conferencing equipment will be used to:
Organize online meetings between courts and the Superior Council of Magistracy;
Remote participation of witnesses, defendants, lawyers, experts and investigators. At the same time, the video conferencing system will exclude the need to escort detainees to the court room, which will save costs and time.
The Superior Council of Magistracy has successfully tested the recently installed video conferencing equipment at its headquarter.
More details will soon be announced on the progress of these IT solutions aimed to improve the process of reorganization and optimization of courts, thus facilitating access to justice for all members of the society.
